Penalty for failing to furnish 1099
I cannot get JP MOrgan to provide me with a 1099 from 2009. What recourse do I have? Still waiting to file tax returns.

    What KIND of 1099?

Form 1099-INT (for interest paid on savings and CDs) is required ONLY IF the annual interest exceeds $10.

Form 1099-DIV (for dividends paid) is normally issued for ANY dividend.

Form 1099-MISC (for independent contract work) is required if the annual amount paid exceeds $600.

For the Form 1099-MISC, you have to report the income even if the Form 1099-MISC is not issued,
