How do stop my 8 month old English Bulldog from pooping in the house
Max pees outside and poops in the house. He pretty much started pooping in the house at 6 months. I take him out every 2 hours. He seems to hold the poop outside then do it as soon as he's in the house.

    What is your daily routine?

Does he stay outside for any extended period?

What type of food do you feed?

Do you use a crate or a gated off "safe"place?

Very important questions :) If you can answer them, we can help you with some solutions and tricks of the trade ;)

I am home much of the time with Max. We live in Florida, so it's very hot right now. I have started giving him an hour in the yard early in the morning. During the day I take him to a shady place in the yard every couple of hours. I walk him in the evening. He dosen't take the heat well so I have to watch out for that. He eats Bil-Jac puppy kibble. He spends maybe 1 hour twice a day in the crate.

What you might want to do is crack down on his freedom until he pottys in front of you.

Take him out on your scheduled times. Walk him around.. Make him run a bit.

When dogs exercise, they will empty their bowls first and foremost. So have him run around.. Make him chase a ball. Up his exercise.

After all that is done and he still hasn't gone potty, then put him back in his crate and head back out in 15 minutes. Don't set him up for failure and allow him to roam any part of your house free. If you don't want to crate him right away, then tie him to you. The min he starts sniffing and looking anxious or starting to stink, outside immediately then LOTS of praise.

    Hope that helps
