    Trane heat pump crankcase heater burnt up, is it due to the compressor overheating?
    My Trane heatpump compressor overheated, and the crankcase heater burnt up, are they related?

    Probably. Compressor overheated causing heater to get hotter than usual since there are usually no controls on them.
