2008 Expedition driver's window cable broke. Can be spliced?
Less than two years old. This should not have happened.
Kept in top condition by a perfectionist. (To minimize scratching the window, I don't raise and lower it much.)

Ford wants $218 for a whole new window system.
Everything inside the door looks fine and clean and "like new".
Apparently Ford UNDER-ENGINEERED the cable and it frayed and broke.

Rather than replace the whole mechanism, can a new cable be installed?

You should make it right, Ford.

    Thank you.
