    How much and where do you put the rebar for garage pads
    Can you describe how much and where to install rebar when building a garage pad

    Concentrate some in the areas around post bases.otherwise I make 'em 2-3 foot apart,crossed side to side.front to back.. using twist ties and block or stones to elevate the bar from the ground so the concrete flows all around it.. It should be somewhere in the middle of the pour.

    You really don't have to use rebar,that can get expensive.I,more than often,use highway wire.I only use rebar between pads or new to old pours.

    I would add a footing (extra concrete ) at any location a vehicle will be getting on /off. A little extra cost but will prevent vehicle from cracking slab on that edge where it's weakest.
