    Sewage smell from perimeter tile
    Hi:
I have had an ongoing issue with a sewage smell off-and-on for 7 yrs. Before that, my grandparents, who built the house, had an occasional odd smell. My grandfather built the house, and always tinkered with the vent, thinking it had to be the cause of the smell. However, recently the smell is much stronger and lingers for days. We have had the tank pumped , to no avail. I believe the smell is tied into the culvert, one perimeter tile has an awful odor. The culvert is maintained by the township, but as there are no backup problems, little can be done. Also, when we run water;shower, laundry, dishwasher, the smell is not noticeable, but when my parents, who live next door, use a large amount of water, the smell is very noticeable. Again, the culvert is used by both houses. Any suggestions about the perimeter tile, can I just seal it off? Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.-Kristen
