Theft from my employer.
The owner of my company has proof that I sold items to customers and didn't log or turn in the cash from the sales. I admitted to doing it and returned the money that my owner knows about. There are other items in which the owner is not aware of. My immediate boss was involved and kept cash from other sales as well. My boss is denying receiving any cash and he has been with the company for 20 years. So the owner believes him. Im afraid that if other customers bring sales to the owners attention he may press charges. When I returned the money I had the owner sign a paper stating that I did so. And that the debt incurred while working with my company was resolved. With this document that the owner signed can he still press charges if he finds out about more items?

Yes, I would think he can. After all, they are different items from the ones that are resolved.
Why are you stealing?

I have stayed with this company for several months and listened to them say we will get a sign out front for you. We will advertise for you. Basically I got tired of them blowing smoke up my rear end. And I was showed how to do this by my immediate boss who has been with this company for 20 years now. So I figured it was kind of a don't ask don't tell kind of thing. And the fact that I have 3 kids to feed and its not like there are tons of people hiring right now. I have actually made the decision to join the army because things are so tough right now. But basically I couldn't sit back and watch my children suffer. It literally was a matter of having electricity or running water.

Hello j:
He can file charges even if he DOESN'T find out about more items. The document you signed might prevent him from suing you, but it certainly doesn't prevent him from calling the cops.

OK. So with that being said excon. I returned the money that I kept. However I know my immediate boss has several items he has sold and received cash for and he sends the inventory to my store. So I have given him cash for sales also. Even though I returned the money. So its as if I never took it he can press charges? And what is the likely hood of the police automatically arresting me? The document I had him sign was printed up by me stating I (insert name here) have resolved and paid back all money incurred while gainfully employed by (company name here) as of 7-10-10. I am no longer employed as of 7-10-10 and I am no longer responsible for any issues thereafter involving (company name here) and myself during employment or after employment. The owner signed and dated it

Hello j:
No matter what paper you signed, there's NOTHING stopping him from picking up the phone and calling the cops. The fact that he didn't do it right away after he discovered the theft is GOOD for you. It means that he has some other agenda at work, but he certaily can.
