    My mouse is sick
I have a HP mouse with the 'scroller wheel' in the middle of the right and left click buttons. Anyway, last night I was just scrolling along when my wheel quit on me. I can still right and left click, but the wheel won't let me scroll. Can you fix these yourself. I just wanted to try to get a few more scrolls until I can get to the store. I took the screw out of the bottom while ago and looked at it inside. Couldn't see what I thought may be the problem. Any suggestions?

Honestly, considering the cost, bin it and get a new one, not really worth fixing.

Take it to the vet! Kidding. My husband builds computers and fixes problems for people. He told me the same thing Curlyben told you.

    Mouse is alive and well
I'm the woman who had a sick mouse. Guess what, I just fixed it - at least until I can get to the store. I took the mouse apart (for the 5th time) and took out the scroll wheel. Being a part of the 'senior' community, I got my trusty magnifying glass and looked at the little axle thingys that stick out on each side of the wheel. At that point I decided to try something - I took about a 3/8" square of scotch tape and carefully stuck it on the left axle and then gingerly popped it back into the axle holder on the mouse and PRESTO the scroll wheel is working great! I guess that side of the axle got worn down from so much of my scrolling. It now fits nice and snug. Plus, now I can scroll away without that annoying clikcking sound all the time.
