New ceiling fan switch will not work
I have a 3 speed ceiling fan switch that I replaced with a new one. The new one will not work at all. It is a 4 wire pull chain switch. The new switch only connects L terminal to one other terminal at a time as it switches. Looking at the wiring diagram, it should always connect from L to 3 to get power to the motor winding and then connect to other terminals to determine speed. It has a 3 wire capacitor that sends power to the speed winding of the fan. Where can I get a switch that will do it correctly?

Sounds like you used the wrong replacement switch. Why did you replace it in the first place?
