Air conditioning unit won't turn on
We went away for the weekend - I turned the air up to 83 degrees while we were gone. We returned home last night and I lowered temp to 75 degrees. Unit never kicked on. Neither the outside unit nor the inside air handler unit are running. Checked breakers and they're OK. Any ideas? We had the coil replaced a few months ago in the air handler. The outside unit is about 5 years old.

So sorry. The heat pump -outdoor unit is a Grande Air (4 yrs old) and the air handler is a Ruud (8 yrs old). I know when they replaced the coil in the handler they had a problem with the breaker (?) next to the air handler and the connection, but he pulled it out and put it back in again and it worked after that. I just hate to pay someone to come and do that. Thanks for any help you can give.

Well its possible the same prob. Has happened again ,but unless you are very handy and no what you are doing its not advisable 230 volts is nothing to take chances with, if you have a multi meter and no how to use it, it might be safer and cheaper to call a friend that can handle it

Well, the air technicians just left and it was the "green wires" in the air handler unit - they were broken under the cap. There was also some clogging in the outside drain area. Thanks for your help!

Well, found out that there was a wire "broken" under green cap in air handler unit. I can't imagine how a wire breaks, but 119.00 later it's working again! Just thankful that it wasn't something worse. Thanks for your help.
