What should I feed my pregnant Dachshund
My 2 year old Dachshund is now pregnant. Does anyone have any ideas about the best foods or food supplements I should be giving her? Her puppies are already spoken for and will all be adopted by my relatives who are all Dachshund lovers.

This post is going to sound mean, but we have heard this story many times before on here so please bare with me...
Why have you not researched this already?
Before breeding it is important to learn everything involved before you even think about mating your dogs.
When breeding you should also have a breed mentor... someone who has bred before (preferably your breed) and can guide you through the process. You should have witnessed litters being whelped before and aided in the process.
I'm glad you have been responsible and already found the potential puppies homes (although can you provide homes for 10 pups if she has that many?) but there really is a lot more to breeding than just selling/giving away puppies.
To your actual question: The b!tch should be fed a high quality puppy food at least 2 weeks prior to whelping to give her the extra nutrients needed to provide for the puppies.
Puppy food should also be given during nursing until the puppies are fully weaned.
As the puppies develop there will be less room in moms stomach for food, so frequent small meals are needed as large meals will just make her feel uncomfortable.

Your dog should be eating a good quality puppy food.
Anything you give your dog now and for the next 3 months goes directly to her puppies. I have also heard that it helps make weaning a little bit more easier ;)

Your post is not mean. I do understand about breeding Dachshunds as I did it for 10 years in Virginia. I bred my girls 3 times after they were 2 years old and then had them spayed. I asked about the food and formula because another woman who breed

Good high quality puppy feed will help, but be certain to have your dog checked out at the vets to be sure she'll be able to safely have the litter.
