    Child support
I was wondering if anyone could help with my question. I have a court ordered child support agreement out of South Dakota but I currently reside in Oregon. I applied for help from DHS in Oregon to take care of my kids. My ex has not paid child support and is behind over $2000. Now I receive a letter in the mail from the DCS in South Dakota saying they have closed my child support case because I am receiving services in Oregon. How is that possible when it is court ordered? Does that mean I have to apply for child support through the state of Oregon now?

Where does your ex live? What state? Also did Oregon do something to garner a change of venue on your behalf? Did you assign child support collection to them when you signed papaers?

He is living in South Dakota where the initial child support order was made. I went to the Oregon department of Human Services to apply for food stamps and medical insurance for my children. I did not ask Oregon to do anything because my case is in So

Did you call them in South Dakota and ask what is going on? Has anyone from Ohio contacted you about your case? Have you talked to your welfare worker?

If the father still resides in SD, then SD should still have jurisdiction. So contact them and ask why the case has been closed when there is still an order for support. Also check with OR to see if they filed a request for change of venue,
