Betta fish and 100 degree water temp
We were on vacation and returned to find that we had a sudden heat wave and the Betta tank jumped to 100 degrees. The fish is on the bottom, with gills moving slowly. He has moved around the tank but just barely. The tank is now about 78 degrees. Will this fish recover?

He probably will, the first time I got a heater I had no idea what I was doing and heated up my tank to 100 as well, all the fish survived and are still thriving.

If the water temperature is gradually reduced, he should be OK. Fish are very good survivors... Hes low and not doing much because he is hot. Itd be like you sitting in a room that is 100 degrees.. I doubt you'll be doing jumping jax -- Just keep an eye on him. Hes a tropical fish that loves warm water, his water just got too hot. Gradually reduce the eat back to its normal temp. and the fishs body will gradually come down as well.
