Where has the cold water gone from my bathroom?
    Hi everyone,

Just recently, we have just lost cold water in our bathroom. Only the hot water runs freely. Also we have no water running in the toilet and just a trickle of hot water from the bath/shower single fixture. But the kitchen and laundry room is working fine. On the same day that the cold water stop working, we had a technician turn on our new heater system (HVAC) for the first time. Is it possible when the new heater system was turned on it could have cause the cold water to stop running? How can I get my cold water back without spending a lot of money I don't have?

We heat with HVAC reverse air or heat strips in our area. There's no connection with the water lines so I don't think that caused your problem.

Are you on pump or city water? Any work on the water lines lately?
I would flush my water heater out before what's clogging the cold water gets into the hot water mains and branches. Let me show you how.
For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by flushing on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures. Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back togather the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps, Tom
