    Goodman furnace GMT070-3B
Home inspector found that the furnace does not have a bracket to hold the furnace filter in place. Is this normal? He is concerned it will be forced into the blower. Goodman furnace GMT070-3B

No big deal. While I guess it is possible for the blower to suck the air filter into the blower wheel . A bracket or other device to hold the filter in place can be made and installed in just a few minutes.

Thak you for your response. The company that had been servicing the furnace was bending and force fitting a 25 inch filter into a space that propably requires a 20 inch filter. I suppose that was to prevent the filter from being pulled into the blower. Or maybe they just did'nt have the proper size filter with them. Anyhow, they only serviced the furnace (and changed the filter) twice a year and it was dirty according to the inspector. Do you think this has harmed the furnace after 6 years?
