I placed new batteries inyo my therostat unit when it showed LO BAT. I still said the same thing and was inoperable. How can I trouble shoot the problem?

Try turning off the breaker to furnace for a few minutes and then back on,, sometimes this will reset

If you take the cover off the Maple Chase thermostat to expose the connections, there may be a small round "reset" button in the lower left hand corner. If so, just push it for 2-3 seconds and it should get rid of the low battery message.

This works! Note that the reset button is slightly above the button in the lower left hand corner, pointed by an arrow marked "Reset".
