    Basement washer install
I want to install a washer in my basement. There is an existing 3 inch plastic drainpipe coming from upstairs and going into the concrete that I could tap into and there is a clean out plug ( I was told it is illeagle to use the cleanout). I need to know how to tap into the drain, at what point between the 3 inch drain and the washer do I put the vent and the trap. I was told I could cut the existing drain and install a T. Can the drain be cut with a hacksaw?
