    84 Honda Civic
    Wondering if you have to take the half shaft out to get the alternator out. Doesn't look like thers is a whole lot of room to pull the alternator out. Thanks

    Real complications are not uncommon on front-wheel drive cars with V-6 engines. I've never heard of anyone having to go to those lengths on Civics, however.

    Actually, no you don't if you take out the 2 bolts holding the alternator to the bracket, and the third, all you do is loosen it (the adjustment bracket to the base) it will fall right out.
