    Checking ac fan motor
My fan in the outside unit fan motor is not running at all. The compressor is kicking on put the fan is not coming on and is rather hot. Can the be the capacitor or do you think that it maybe the motor itself. Is there a way to check either one.

It is a good possibility the motor is defective. Replace the motor and GET a new capacitor that matches the requirements of the new motor. Never replace a new motor without replacing the capacitor also if so equipped.
