Call 911 just to give a threat to my roommates for not doing party at apartment?
    Hi,
I am living in a 4 bedroom apartment. And all my roommates keep engaging themselves in party stuff every weekends(Fri, sat & sun). Since being a phD candidate I cannot afford of having these parties continue at our apartment. But my roommates don't understand my situation and they have to do back to back party after coming from calli's(club), and party goes on till morning, rendering me sleepless on weekends. So my point is how much heavy my position would be if I call 911 to give a little threat to my roommates.
Is it that party at apartment is allowed evryweekend in US? I live in Illinois.

    Hello J:

Why don't you just move out instead of snitching on your roommates?? If they went to jail because of your call, you'll have to move out anyway... I would think a PhD candidate would be smart enough to figure that stuff out.

Also, calling the police is inappropriate unless the party is disturbing OTHER people.

I would be looking for a new place to live.

You could call the police, but remember this is your home also, so you could well be in trouble for "allowing it" Have you talked to the landlord.

Also is the party too loud from the outside. The only reason police care.

And it may sound silly, if there is no real police issue, you can be ticketed for calling 911 for no good reason.

This really is more of a issue between you, room mates and landlord.
