Can my ex GF sue me for gifts etc
My ex GF is warning me that she will sue me in small claims if I don't pay her a huge sum of money.. over 12000 that she claims I owe her... first of all nothing is in writing... we had a verbal agreement that I would shuttle her... to work 5 days a week... round trip am and pm around my fulltime job... total duration almost 2 hrs plus a day... sometimes more... and pay her cash for the expenses such as day to day things/groceries etc etc.. I covered my vehicle expenses, wear and tear.. putting on 31000kms in on year alone... she also says she wants back rent now... and gift reiumbursements for things she bought me... including groceries? She says I can give her my vehicle or the cash in monthly payments... I broke up with her after finding out she was having 2mth affair with her married boss... over a year and a half ago... she came out of left field with this... She has been harassing me at work with calls.. her new Bf also threatened to break my legs.. which was reported to police over this fictional "loan, debt" I owe her... She`s been warned not to call my work or go near my work or home... she says she`ll accept payment or my car in lieu of payment or she`ll proceed with legal action, left no address on the note this was one.. and it is not signed by a notary or lawyer etc.. there are no signed aggreements at all.. and a lawyer friend told me she`s being high handed and it looks bad after a year and a half... also that she needs proof.. I found out that she owes almost the exact amount on a credit card she`s run up since because she without consent put me down as a security contact and the skip tracer called me to find out where she was living?
Does she have a chance of collecting this fee? Its all verbal at this point.. I feel like I should give back the gifts from my Birthday and Xmas etc.. any ideas?

What country do you live in (you mentioned kilometers on vehicle). Laws will vary, but in the United States gifts are generally considered gifts (except in very specific situations), and not expected to be paid back. I have no idea how other countries view this.

She can sue you for just about anything - winning may be another matter. Whether she had an affair is immaterial - her behavior/morals do not change a loan into a gift.

If she is threatening you, go to the Police.

If she does sue you she will present her proof, you will present yours and the Court will decide which "story" makes the most sense under the circumstances.

An agreement cannot be created where none existed. Only the two of you know what the arrangements were and whether there were gifts or loans involved.
