Jack hammer through the slab to find leak

I have found where the slab is leaking. I have read the advice concerning how to find the leak and then to jack hammer the floor to expose the pipe. I know this sounds dumb but how do I jack hammer into the slab without accidentally hitting the pipe? Doug G.:confused:
