    Would housing expense be a write off
    My husband is currently working out of state and his company is taking away his housing per diem, if he pays his own housing while traveling, is that tax deductible?

    Yes, but only if the job assignment away from home at this particuar location is expected to be temporary, which the IRS defines as less than 1 year.
