    Laws of inheritance California
I had a aunt who recently died, and left her entire estate to her "church" except for $1,000 which she left to me, and a niece in another state $5,000. Can I contest the will. Her estate was worth about $600,000.

Of course, I doubt you will win, unless you can prove she was not of sound mind, but that is what probate court is for, a chance to challenge the will.

You will most likely have to pay the attorney up front, unless you can prove a very good claim to the estate
