FEDS PLAN CRACK-DOWN ON SECOND-HAND BARBECUE SMOKE

Summer evenings may no longer be filled with the smell of barbecued steaks, marinaded chicken breasts, hamburgers and or hot dogs. The President, concerned about the health risk of second-hand barbecue smoke, is planning to sign an executive order that would ban the sale of barbecues, charcoal and charcoal lighter as well as impose stiff penalties on people who are caught engaging in this favorite summer past-time.

The White House Press Secretary said, "The smoke from just one barbecue is equal to at least 1000 packs of cigarettes and poses a significant health threat to the American public. The President has decided to do the right thing and ban these silent killers."

Members of the President's own party are not pleased by this announcement. The Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker of the House both said, "Rather than ban barbecues, we should heavily tax and regulate the barbecue industry. The President is missing out on a golden opportunity to bring new revenue into Washington."

The metrosexuals from the Ivy league don't barbeque .They don't even smoke salmon. This is clearly an assault on flyover country

Mine has a smoke stack with a scrubber so it complies with the latest EPA requirements.

I use propane gas. Using charcoal and lighter fluid gives me instant migraines. It's about time someone cracked down on this horrible polluter. They need to just ban the crap altogether and not sell it. Then someone will make a fortune in selling bootlet charcoal and lighter fluid. Ah the days of prohibition will rear it's ugly head again - over charcoal (?)

Don't forget the detox properties of charcoal. It is frequently used in drug and poison overdose situations .It is used in waterfiltration systems . Survivalists have known about the benefits for years.

However , the charcoal I'm talking about is not the coal based charcoal typically sold for cooking . Butyou can buy hardwood charcoal for the barbecue .

This can't be for real. Even a hardcore conspiracy nut wouldn't believe this.

You think not ? There are places where burning wood in your fireplace could become an issue .

Guess where (should only take one guess )
Proposed wood burning ban draws fire - SFGate

And there are places like private town house communities that already ban barbeques even in common areas or on the deck of your home. That is coming to many areas with multifamily housing because of the obvious fire hazard . Apartment Deck BBQ's To Be Banned Soon | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weather - Seattle, Washington | News Archive

Many outdoor public access parks ban it.
    Camden New Journal-news-bbq
CBC News - British Columbia - B.C. parks ban barbecues, campfires

Urban legends often work because there is an element of truth in them
