My soon to be ex husband has been in and out of our kids life off and on for the last three years. He disappears for months at time. He doesn't leave me any warning that he is leaving and gives me no way to directly contact him. I have to go through his mother and sister. After months disappearing he'll just show up at my door and want to see the kids, even though I know it will only last a few months and he'll be gone again. Most recently he has been gone for a year. I have had to move to another state so I would have a place to live. He doesn't provide any support for the kids. His mother and sister have been in contact with me the last few months, but I haven't personally talked to him. I was wondering if I can file child abandonment on him for our three kids. I do have a child support recovery case on him, but it could take over a year for the case to go to court. I live in Fl, and he lives in Ga.

Have divorce papers been filed? Also how long have you lived in Florida? Which state did this all start in ?
