    Hopi silversmith marks
Last week I asked about the marks J.R.E.M. which appear in a ring I have which I surmse is Hopi inlay. It is a full ounce of silver and has a red-headed woodpecker on the left facing a branch with leaves at each end. The bird is made up of coral, mother of pearl, jet, and petrified wood. The branch has a turqouise leaf at each end with jet stems and petrified wood limb. This is inlaid in an oval of siver mounted with a band of turquoise below it, surrounding the ring.
