    cpu cooler confusion
I want to purchase a cpu cooler.

    config-
    amd athlon II x2 240
    biostar ta785ge 128m
    corsair vx450
    sapphire 4670 512mb
    2gb 667mhz kingston ram
    500gb seagate 7200.12
    WD 500gb caviar blue
nzxt gamma(will purchase this before the cooler)

I'm considering cm hyper 212 plus

now I am confused about some things here-

-do I have to remove the plastic mounting frame to install a after market cooler? If yes, will this procedure void warranty?

-will there be any problem in installation with my mobo, because the ram sockets are very close to the cpu socket

    - cooler will fit with nzxt gamma or not?

    please, help
I don't want to screw up with my first after-market cpu cooler:(

    thanks in advance:)

Fir that small of a jump you may not even need a fancy cooler. It can be done with heat sinks and fans and make sure you use premium paste for the one over the cpu.

Going from 2.8 to 3.0 its not even likely your really going to notice anything. And even in India a .2 increase in speed may not warrant a separate system. For the money your putting into it its possible the funds might be better spent elsewhere. That's just my opinion. Have you visited overclocker websites to see the specifications of what your chip might do? They usually post the tests online along with tweaks and temprature values.

Generally all after market CPU heatsinks come with multiple mounting brackets for different types of processors/motherboards.
