Right at the floor?/ Two issues, bad wax ring for sure and possible a slight clog. Some detergent foams like crazy and does not drain anyway nears as fast as water. Same detergent you always been using? Fill 3 buckets with plain water and dump all three into the sink at once, any back up or leak at the toilet?

Thanks, I dumped the buckets of water down and there is no leaks or back up. It is a new toilet, and there is a bit of space between the bowl and floor. Yes the suds are right at the floor, and I always have used this soap. Should I caulk around it.

Do not caulk. If the wax ring is leaking you will just trap the water behind the toilet outer base, it will get into your flooring. Sounds like there is no clog but the wax ring must be replaced. This will require draing the toilet and the tank, disconnect the supply line and remove the toilet. Are you up for all this or do you need a handyman. A plumber would be happy to do this but it would be over kill.

Rings fail for only a few reasons. Toilet movement will do it but improper installation is frequent. Compare the height of the flange to the floor. They should be flush to each other or the flange can stand proud so it sits on top of the floor surface. Anything outside this range requires special steps.

We have a septic and well system. We washed dishes in our double sink and soap suds came up the other side. The weird thing is that soap suds then came out of the cold water faucet but not the hot. (It is a single lever faucet.) I ran the disposal to rid the second sink of suds. I then ran the...

Washing machine drain overflowing soap suds [ 2 Answers ]

The issue is the soap suds, but not water, are overflowing the standpipe. The standpipe has virtually no height as the trap is immediately below where washer hose enters, and then horizontals over to tie into house sewer. This was done because the garage floor level is a couple of feet below the...
