    Computer Monitor - No signal
I have recently built my computer with my brother and we are both stuck. Everything is hooked in correctly. My motherboard is a Gigabyte x58a-ud3r. The monitor is hooked in through my graphics card but sadly there is no drivers considering we can't even get it to show on the screen and the mother board doesn't have any display-ports that we can find. I spent a fair decent amount of this computer and I would like to be able to use it.

Even if no drivers for the actual card may be installed, windows will still use a general video card driver so the system will boot, so not a driver issue.

    2 issues with no signal
    -monitor or the video card

    Confirm cable is in firmly

Try another slot on board to put video card in

Sometimes this actually helps, take the card and use a pencil eraser to erase the contacts on the card and try another slot

If you have access to another known working monitor, connect that monitor to the computer and see if it works with the PC

-If you still get no signal with known working monitor, looks as it would be the video card that is shot or not working

-if known working one works, you know there is a prob with your orig monitor

    :(
I have tried what you suggested and none of it worked. Everything is brand new. I Bought all the parts together and actually just got them. I don't have any OS installed yet so I am sure that it only complicating the problem.

If you have tried another monitor and still same issue, it would appear to be the card itself or the system board.

Check to see if the video card has any jumpers on it.

If you have access to another video card, try a known working video card and a known working monitor with the mother board and if still same situation, I would have to say there is an issue with the board as you are using all known working parts but nothing from this board.

Double check all your connections to the board to make sure in right spot.

The other concern may be if you have any leads that you plug into the board, they may be backwards meaning you may have Pin 1 in the wrong position.

Also try to get it started with absolutely nothing else attached, no printers, sound card or anything, just the video, mouse, monitor and keyboard.

Are you getting any POST beeps when you turn on the computer? Usually those will be a sure indicator of what is preventing the display from turning on. Also what type of video card is it?
