Lease option 2 buy! But taxes are 5years unpaid
We have been leasing a home with option to buy! We love the home but it needs a lot o work and may not pass current inspections! The home was built in 1951. One major thing that really worries me is that the taxes have not been paid in 5years! My landlords seem to be in money troubles because they just lost their home! What should I do?

I'm surprised that the County has not seized the property for non payment of back taxes. I'd contact the county to see just how much is owed before I'd even dream of buying it. The county may be in the process of filing paperwork to seize the home for non payment of back taxes.

I agree, you may be able to buy this home for back taxes at their next auction

Have to spread more "love" around but I thoroughly agree on this one. Definitely check with the county to see what's going on as I'm sure the landlord won't be forthcoming on this information.
