Ac runs even when thermostat is off
We have a 2 story home with a Honeywell zone system in the attic. We have replaced both damper controls in the past 2 years, but when I turn on the power switch in the attic, the upstairs air comes on and won't stop. The thermostat is set to off. Nothing seems to make it stop other than cutting power to the entire unit. The air is not blowing downstairs. The attic fan is not coming on, although it must be 90 or hotter up there. We replaced the condenser last summer, so the air is plenty cold, just not coming out in the right place. I would be happy if I could just stop the upstairs portion from operating at all and open the damper for AC downstairs. Can someone tell me how to do that? I am really tired of spending hundreds of dollars every time there is a problem!
