    My partner of 10 years abandon me and my 2 kids with no money or food in the house..
    Well how do I get started... we been together since we were 17.. I'm 28 now.I've been a homemaker for 10 years.. I've been looking for a job for 6 months now.. but nobody hires me... I have no experience no education... but anyway... we had our problems last few years.. him lying to me.. not coming home for days.. The other night he abandon me and my kids.. out of no where.. he said we never going to see him again.. I'm in shock because he left me with nothing.. no money to buy milk or bread.. I have no toilet paper.. no shampoo or soap... we had all the bills in his name... that he didn't pay it yet.. over 3000 dollars of bills... he hasn't been paying rent... I'm scared my landlord is coming by and ask for the money.. when I don't even have a dollar to my name... I'm internet is getting shut off.. that's means no phone.. no cable... My gas is going to be shut off... I don't know what to do... I have no family to help me... what should I do?. child support?I just tired of crying last few day's.. My son ask me when is he getting a new daddy when he was going to school today... I just told him not to worry... and don't think about it.. he got's me.. that's all it matter's... it's just sucks so bad.. to hear my little boy say that.. I just want my kids not to worry about this horrible sitution.

    This is a legal question and I've asked that it be movd.

    Yes, file for child support IMMEDIATELY and ask that the matter be expedited before you are homeless. The Court needs to straighten this out and get you some financial assistance.

    You will undoubtedly have to find a job because the Court ordered support will not totally support you and your children.

    Judy's right, and after you've got the legal proceedings going, I'd get back in school. Look into the junior or community college nearest you. And make sure you visit the financial aid office, they should be able to help you with the costs. A higher education will help you in finding a job that will allow you to support you and your children.

    Do I go to small claims court.. to make my ex pay his bills?
    My ex has gas and eletric in his name.. and he made payment plans 2 months ago to pay all his debt... But we are not together anymore.. he doesn't want to help me with the eletric or the gas.. and I keep telling him.. no eletric.. no fridge.. and so on.. but he doesn't care... I'm getting help right now from the state... but they didn't give me any money yet.. just food stamps.. do I go to small claims court and file a complaint.. or do I call my case worker... and tell her I can't wait until next month to get money... I don't know what to do... I try filing for child support.. but it's cost money that I don't have right now.. well if anyone has some advice let me know thx:)

    Filing for child support is free in NY.

    Yes, call your caseworker and ask for emergency relief.
