    Requirements of health care workers
Hi, can any one give me some information about how the requirements of health care workers can contribute to a positive experience for patients.

I have been in the health care field since 1974 and all the education and degrees and certifications do not "make" someone fit to work in health care. On paper, yes. And I am not faulting education - you absolutely need the groundwork and medical training. But you find the person who can take that training, combine it with a compassionate soul, a willingness to learn beyond the classroom, be adaptable to situations, have a calm head, display rational thinking, be genuinely caring, trustworthy, a good work ethic, and an understanding that what he/she does with or for a patient can have significant outcomes (both desired and not desired), and finally, to let all be received as one. Meaning - no preferences, no biases, discrimination. But with an open heart.

Where I work now, the mission statement is simply that everyone is treated equals.

I realize this may not be exactly what you are looking for, but not everyone can be, nor should they be, a health care worker.

Hope someone else can come along and give you their perspective.
