    Girgling in Toilet while Showering
About 2 months ago I had my 2 toilets seep water underneath during and after my shower. From a friend I was told to get ridex and put a treatment down the tub drain; there must be a clog. Well, that worked for about a week, then one night, I accidentally let the hall toilet run (which has been fixed now), and the water seeped through the master toilet and into my bedroom. Next morning, I hit the sopping floor. I have a fix it guy who rented a small router rooter and he got the clog. It's been fine except that the master toilet seeps a little (it has it's own issues since the bolts that hold it in place, are stippled and cannot keep a seal). Yesterday while I was showering in the hall BR, I heard the toilet girgling. I stopped the shower and checked the toilet. No water backing up into the shower as before or any seepage from either toilets. This morning same thing happened. Do I have another clog? I am a single woman, no children, no white mice or anything strange put down the toilet. I did put Ridex down the tub drain yesterday. I am unemployed and wanting to know if this needs to be router rooted again. Tks, Judy

Gurgling toilets usually means you have a partially clogged vent. Rod from the roof with enough snake to reach roof top to basement floor plus 20'. You also need to replace the 2 brass johnnie bolts which hold your toilet to the flange, they are easily replaced and you shou;ld install a new wax ring. Avoid advice from the friend who said to use Ridex, its is for a septic tank and is questionable even in a septic system.

Toilet Bubbles When Showering [ 2 Answers ]

We live in an old farm house with one vent pipe and the toilet bubbles when using the shower or bath. The septic tank was just drained a couple of years ago so I don't think that's it. I think it might be the vent pipe because the toilet wants to overflow if the tub is draining but otherwise it...
