Is it possible to update Canon BJ W9000?
I have a Canon BJ-W9000 wide format color plotter. It's an old plotter according to today's standards. I also have the fiery RIP. It's still functional and I was planning to run it off another computer that I'm going to install windows 98 on, since the BJ W9000 runs off Windows 98. I haven't had any luck trying to run it off xp even with the drivers found for xp on the Canon International website. After thinking for a bit, I figured that even if I could get the windows 98 computer to talk to the plotter and the RIP device, there's still the issue of running advanced software through an operating system that's ancient according to today's standards. Then I thought that maybe I could setup a home network as a workaround, yet, there's still the issue of running advanced results from graphics and 3d software through the old windows 98 operating system, which would be the last stop before reaching the plotter. Therefore, I'm at the point of discarding the plotter - well actually I was going to rip it apart and take any parts I could use such as gears, motors, etc. because Canon doesn't help with helping me locate any recyclers or places that would buy the plotter (for way less I'm sure). So before I start ripping it apart, I just want to know if there's any ways I could update the plotter, either through. Hardware or software? Thanks!

Our Church has one that was donated, and they never used it. Extra ink & software. I remember the software wanting WinXP. And has a PC scsi card.
