    Furnace blower diagnosis
I have a Ruud furnace. The thermostat is working properly and the burners will light. It seems that when the blower gets the signal to come on the burners go out and there is a humming sound that last about three minutes and then stops. After a few minutes, the burners will come on again and the cycle repeats itself. I did replace the run capacitor located on the blower housing and I still have the same problem . Can anyone help me?

    Thanks

Have you tried spinning the blower to see if it is stuck?

Yes, when I gave it a spin the fan was spinning for a short while but at a very low speed and the burners still cut off.

Would it make sense to try to apply 120v directly to the blower before buying a new one? If so, how would I do that.
    Thanks again
