How to obtain misdemeanor in Texas
I've given a person an extension to my credit card in which the other person promised to pay. Besides that I've used some of my own credit cards to get her plane tickets and other things in which she promised she'll pay. Everything she owed using my cards is about +/- $10,000.00. At first she sends me a letter that she'll pay her dues & also she bragged it in Facebook that she'll pay her obligations. For few months until now she just stopped paying her dues. At one time she made a lame excuse that she won't pay what she owed to my credit cards just because my sibling let everyone in Facebook knows how a scam she is.
At first I try to help her because I thought she was telling the truth about her condition living with a father of her daughter in which she claimed to be abusive and risky for involvements in gambling and drugs. And she also mentioned about her ailing mom that she needs to visit in Asia. And many more stories.
I understand she didn't put a gun in my head to get an credit extension & other things which she promised she'll pay back. But is there a way to sue her? I'm in California and she's in Texas.
On the other hand, can I obtain a background check (felonies and/or misdemeanor) on this person? I got a gutsy feeling that she may have some felonies or at least a misdemeanor. I'm not the first person she victimized nor the last one. My email: >Removed<

This sounds like a classic scam. And the info she has probably given you is phony.

But yes you can sue her. This may be above small claims court limits, so I would consult an attorney.

You can give her name and address to the police in the city that she lives and in your town. If there is enough proof she did a fraud, they may press charges but most likely nothing will happen since you gave her the money as a boyfriend

Not sure where she used the credit cards, but very possible she is not even in the US ( assuming you are in the US) She my be in Texas but if everything was done over phone or on internet she could really be anywhere in the world.

You can also sue her in civil court for a judgement to try and get some of your money back also.
