V.O.P. Driving on Suspended License w/Knowledege
Here are my details: I have 2 duis (within 5 years) I'm currently on Probation since Jan. I've been doing really good paid all my fees except for 300$ something dollars- never missed an appointment or failed a piss test. Finished DUI school- only had a few more other things to complete. Was supposed to be off p.o. in DEC. Well the other morning I got caught driving to work (I had no other arraignments).. seems every time I do something wrong I get caught. SO I got issued a seatbelt ticket( reason for pulling me over in the first place) and a driving with a suspended license w/knowledge. This also made me vioalte my probation ( I called and let her know as soon as I was arrested) and this is my first violation. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of the punishments I might get... and I'm still paying off old attourney fees that didn't really help me with a DUI and since I'm pleading no contest I was wondering if you think a public defendor can work out a deal for me. I'm not worried about fines or more/extended probation. Im worried about jail. I had to do 10days(weekends) for my DUI and I never want to go back. I want to work out a deal of house arrest or CC.. something.( I hope they find enough reason for it- I have 2 full time jobs and I go to college part time) I don't know how they expect people to pay fines and do the things they need to do when you can't even drive yourself to work to be a productive member of society. It all just seems like a vicious cycle that makes anyone violate- frequentlly- when all they are doing is trying to get the correct things done in their life to move forward. SO does anyone have any ideas on what I should be mentally prepairing myself for? Thanks for any help at all- I'm a hot mess and maybe ( I HOPE) I'm overreacting...

    Hello c:

Don't start playing the victim card with me. You drove DRUNK. I, or my kids could have been YOUR victim... I don't know if the PD can help, but that's the only choice you got. Do I think you'll do some jail time? I DO. Do the courts care about your two jobs? NO. They care about you breaking the law.

I will go along with EXCON, you knew the deal, you agreed to the terms of the probation. I am sure this was not the first time you ever drove when you were not suppose to. I will quess that you will get your license revolked, and not be able to get it back for a lot longer. Perhaps a few more weeks in jail.

You had the option not to go on probation with such hard terms and merely do time in prison instead. ** they can't force you to do probation. In jail you would not have to worry about drug testing, driving to work ( you merely walk to other side of prison)

You knew the deal, broke it, got caught and now don't want to pay the price,
