    Can you disconnect drum brakes?
Do you really need the drum brakes or can you disconnect them? I have front pads, and rear drums. Just don't have the money to replace them right now, and they are squeaking, kind of driving me nuts.

You really need them, since they provide 40% of the stopping power. Your liability would be great, if you were in an accident and you had disabled the rear brakes. Besides, your car would not be legal at that point. Try to find a friend who can help you change the brakes yourself.
