I asked this on the pregnancy topic but no one answered. This is still related to women's health so I'll ask it here in case somebody knows.

My last period was on April 19, and I engaged in unprotected sex on May 8-9. On May 19 I had light to moderate (red) bleeding with blood clots. It is not very light since I have to use sanitary napkin, but it is light compared to my period. Today (May 20), the bleeding is still light to moderate compared to my normal period and red/brown with clots. Could this be implantation bleeding or just my period? I normally have heavy bleeding from day 1-4 of my period and then light bleeding from days 5-7.

I'm sorry I did not respond sooner, but when you posted yesterday I was sleeping, and I worked all last night. Please understand that we are only volunteers here and help people in our free time.

Implantation bleeding has not been proven through science. Consider bleeding as heavy as you are after the egg, only the size of a small pencil dot implanting in your uterus. It's just not been proven. Many times women THINK they are having implantation bleeding only because their period is near due when implantation actually occurs.

Now, you could be having an off period. It happens every once in a while.

It's unfortunate, but you are now in the waiting zone. If your last period started on April 19 and the bleeding began on May 19, I would assume that you are just having your period.

Thank you very much for your answer. I'm so sorry if I sounded like I'm demanding an answer from the experts. I guess I was just anxious to hear any answer since I can't take a pregnancy test yet, and my mood swings are getting a bit uncontrollable again (due to bipolar).

This is my third day of medium bleeding with small clots. It is similar to my period, but not that heavy as filling the entire pad. Another difference from my period is that the blood only comes out when I go to the bathroom, when I wipe my part after peeing.
