Only a dentist will be able to tell you for sure if it can get filled. To do so, they'll probably have to actually examine it.

I can tell you what it's like to have a tooth pulled. I had a molar pulled a few years back. They shoot you full of novacaine. Then they grab the tooth with a tool that looks like a pair of pliers. They tap the pliers back and forth with a little hammer, to loosen the tooth, then they pull it out. It doesn't really hurt. It's more like a pressure, and you can feel your jaw moving.

Afterward, they pack your cheek full of cotton. You're not supposed to drink anything through a straw, smoke, or do anything that creates suction in your mouth for several day afterward. I never even needed to fill the prescription for pain meds they gave me.

You asked a few questions, so lets start with the 1st one. Yes, the teeth can be filled, the DDS will use a tooth colored material to fill the teeth. But if the decay is into the nerve, then you can't. Then you will need a root canal. A root canal is when you drill into the tooth and remove the nerve. Then clean out that area and then place another material and fill in the hole that was drilled to enter the tooth. It really is pretty much painless. Your last question is about an extraction. After the area is numb the DDS will loosen the tooth by rocking it back and forth, then pulling it out. Some times, a tooth has to be cut (or sectioned) that will make it easier to get out. I hope this answers some of your questions. Good Luck!

Definitely the tooth can be fixed. The sooner you go to the dentist the better.
