What is the time limit to be charged with theft
I was terminated March 02/10 for stealing wire from my employer. They have threaten to charge me but they still haven't charge me. How long do they have to go ahead with chargeing me.

It's basically open ended BUT goes by State statute and amount.

    What State? What amount?

Are the Police investigating? Have you been notified that the Grand Jury might hear the charges?

    Hello m:

It depends on how much the wire was worth. If you stole enough for it to be a felony, you might have to wait up to 5 years for the statute of limitations to expire. If it wasn't worth much, maybe only a year.
