    Florida eviction laws
I am 82 years old and for the last 5 years my adult son (54 now) has been living in my house which I own. He doesn't pay any rent, he has a drinking and gambling problem and verbally and emotionally abuses me constantly. I cannot live this way anymore. I have emphysema and must have breathing treatments at least twice a day. He insists on smoking in the house and says he wants me to die. I have called the sheriff on several occasions but he always comes back. Can I legally put his clothes outside and have my locks and phone number changed so he cannot get in? I shouldn't have to live my last years like this. I am on a fixed income... just social security and don't have money to hire an attorney. What can I do?

He has to be evicted according to the laws of your State. What State are you in?

If he is a danger to you a faster means to get him out might be to a get an order of protection against him, followed by an eviction.
