    Felony friendly degrees
I just recently got out of prison 10/19/09 and I'm having difficult getting a job. I have two felonies 1st and 2nd degree sales of a controlled substance. I would like to go to school but I'm not sure what to go for and what jobs out there will be felony friendly after I get a degree?

    Hello lori:

Being a felon myself, I've NEVER found any felony friendly jobs. Indeed, if it was just my FELONY that they looked at, I NEVER would have found work... But, I managed to convince some employers that they couldn't survive without me. Being convinced of that, they looked beyond my felony. That's exactly what you need to do.

Of course, I made sure that I interviewed directly with the boss first off, so that they had NO CHANCE to reject me based simply on what was written. I also made sure that the position I was seeking required no professional licenses that my felony would disqualify me for.

So, the only career I WOULDN'T seek, would be one that I couldn't qualify for. The rest is up to you.

You can find jobs that will hire felons at www.xamire.com. It's a felony friendly employer listing, information, and help community for felons. Best one out there too, and it's free!

That's the same question I have. There is a profession that ex-felons can go into & get themselves into a financially stable lifestyle. I am currently enrolled in college & having a hard time trying to find a career to get into that will satisfy me financially. I looked into LCDC but they don't make any money.
