    Should I settle my debt
I found out today that the debt collection agency suing me in MA is not certified to collect debts in MA. Does that mean that I can get the case dismissed? Would it be better to settle the debt with them for what I can afford right now in exchange that I do not file a complaint against them as was suggested by the divisions bank?

Basically this is what I need to know.

Being sued by a collection agency not licensed in MA for an old credit card debt.

    Questions
1- Are they allowed to sue me?
2- Should I file the complaint before talking to them about dropping the case or settling?
3- Should I settle so that they take the debt off my credit report?
4- If I settle will they comply and take the debt off my credit report?
5- Should I settle with them even though they are not licensed to collect debt in MA?
6- If the case is dropped can they still sue me for the same debt?
7- Can they still try to collect that debt at a later time if the case is dropped?

    Thank you
