    Can he get joint custody?
My daughters father is the non-custodial parent to our daughter. He is in the army reserves, does not work otherwise and lives illigaly in low income housing. He is scheduled to be deployed to Afghanastan in October, he said his unit is making him get joint custody of our child. Can he have joint custody if he is getting deployed so soon? And can he get joint custody when he is homeless?

How can he be homeless when your accusing him of something else? Also being deployed doesn't matter until it happens. Unless he is a threat to the child what is the real issue with all this?
