I have an installment loan with a finance company and they have refused 3 payments
I have a loan with a finance company. I mailed two payments in one month and my payment was returned to me with a note stating that they could not accept checks as they always have done. I sent a payment to the home office with a letter explaining that the office in Lexington had returned my check for two payments to me and copied the note that was sent and enclosed it with my payment. I have never received that particular check back and have never gotten any further correspondence from the company for over 3 months now. I have received notice of their intent to garnish my wages. What is my recourse?

    Hello L:

Your recourse is to get caught up on your payments, settle with them for a different amount, or go to court when they sue you.

Were you in default before you sent these payments?
