Online connection!
I have been talking to a guy online for about a month well actually I
Think we have had about 6 conversations usually they last for hours
He said that he enjoys talking to me. He also said he chatted with other
Girls but its not the same as with me.. I told him I felt the same way.
Can you have an online connection with someone.

Yes but I wouldn't call them a boyfriend/girlfriend, just an online friend. Dating someone means sharing experiences. Online dating has a much higher the potential for one party to misrepresent them-self.

Is there any chance that you could meet? There's only so much connection you can make online.
Have you tried speaking on the phone? The big test is how well you interact in person.

Hi, karen3333!
Sure, a person can have an online connection with someone where they might grow to like each other enough and have an interest in maybe furthering things by speaking on the phone and/or meeting in person.
An admonition to you, though...
A person can be anyone they want to online, especially in a chat room. Until the person does something that's verifiable as being true and accurate, it's best to proceed with caution.
On a site such as we're on right now that isn't a chat room, many of us have spoken with each other on the phone as well as gone to visit each other. Hence, we've been verified with one another. Also, everything in my profile is verifiable and accurate.
Thanks!

Yes we can have a connection on line, on the phone, in person, or any other way people interact. But I sure wouldn't get carried away by any one for any reason, after only a month, or a few conversations.
They may be great online pals, but time will reveal what's real, and what ain't, and until you know for sure, be cautious, not stupid around strangers, especially unseen ones.

I agree with the others.. online connections can happen and can be great, but like the others said.. I would proceed with caution. Cause cyberspace is a place where people have the opportunity to recreate themselves, as well as misrepresent themselves and the true test is really when one actually has a verbal (speaking) conversation...
Over time would that be a possibility? Maybe speaking on the phone or skype/msn.. as in either with or without video conversation?
Also how old are you? And how old is he? Cause this is an important factor I feel.
Be safe!

Online "connections" can happen, but be very careful. There are real life "nut cases" out there who have made an art out of gaining your confidence and luring you in.
If you decide to meet him be sure to do it in a public place with a friend nearby. You never know what kind of a person you'll actually be meeting.

Yes you can have a very powerful connection with someone online, but you know why? Because they can make themselves seem perfect. They can easily hide important info that you should know about... like a wife, or fiancé, etc etc. talk to him on the phone maybe, skype maybe, VERY carefully meet him in person MAYBE... but though it may seem impossible, don't get attached, because when you find out he's been lying to you and just playng a game for his own entertainment you'll feel stupid, hurt, embarrassed, used, and did I mention stupid? You'll feel like a fool. Believe me.

Redhead1992: first of all I feel that reedy you gave me was uncalled for!
Secondly if you re-read my post you'll see that I was calling VERBAL conversations the true test... and that text-based conversation can be misleading
And I suggested that OVER time one should either talk on the phone or over video-chat... the reason I suggested that was:
1. as a fist step before meeting
2. or if the two people in question lives far away from each other.
