How to get FICA return for my OPT period
Hi, I am Sagar Samaria. I happen to find this link related to my problem. I seriously need a consultant who can help me in this regard. I want to get refunds for my OPT period (Jan 2009-Oct 2009) which is not a small amount. Also I got married last Nov,09 so would like to discuss some tax relaxations in that regards as well. I am currently on H1B and my wife on H4. I filed the taxes for the year 2009 with form 1040 along with W-7, and form 843 and 8316 as a jointly filed tax-return. I got returns for the first portion of my jointly filed returns on 1040. But I received a letter from IRS stating me that they need some more explanation on the Form 843. I don't know what that really means? I happen to read this article and was wondering that if I've made a mistake.
Could any consultant help me in this regard. I'll really appreciate it.
